Finding balance AND reaching your Goals
My 3 teenage daughters have been away at camp now for almost 3 weeks and I have some reflections!
Being away from my children for a few weeks has given me a chance to feel into my natural rhythms of the day when everything is on my terms. Here’s what I’m learning about myself.
I'm learning that:
1. I love going to bed early and getting up early.
2. I am most productive between 2-5pm (right when I'm normally carpooling and shifting from work Jenny into mom-Jenny) Need to figure that one out somehow.
3. I don't like moving my body in the morning. I prefer doing a yoga class or a walk right around 5pm and then cooking and eating a late dinner.
4. I like to take the morning really slow - coffee, check emails / news etc. And get focused around 9am. (assuming a 5am wake)
5. And I love a midday power nap. I close all the lights and put biurnal beats on and set a timer for 30-minutes. I don't always "sleep." Sometimes I just need to remove myself from most stimuli for a half hour or so and then I feel refreshed.
6. And then the evenings are for me and hubby (until my early bedtime of course lol)
I love this schedule so much. It fits so well for me.
Of course, I'm going to have to recalibrate all of it this Sunday when we pick up one of our daughters. I'm so excited to see her and to have her home but the schedule very much changes once the girls are home.
There has to be away for working Mom’s to feel more grounded, balanced, available for their families AND meet their own goals and dreams.
I'm presenting in an upcoming virtual summit called the Goal-getters summit starting next week. It's about setting realistic goals, and how to achieve them. How to manage time, schedules and how be more organized.
My topic is on Mindful and Intuitive Eating secrets for joyful eating. This is important and relevant to setting and reaching goals in the sense that if you're not nourishing your body and feeling your best physically, how can you even have the energy to strive to reach your goals and dreams?
I'm thinking that I'm going to personally benefit from hearing many of these 25 speakers.
My hope is one of them can help me feel more balanced in my schedule once the kids get back.
Is this an area of your life that you struggle with as well?
